Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
From the same breeder as the popular variety ‘Glam Rock’, this fabulous mophead Hydrangea is equally striking. Enormous flower heads of pink-flushed petals cover Hydrangea macrophylla 'Swinging Sixties' from midsummer, followed by colourful buttery yellow and orange autumn foliage. Long lasting Hydrangea flowers are perfect for cutting and drying for creating impressive flower arrangements. This hardy shrub has a neat rounded habit that makes it an ideal specimen for a border or prominent patio container. Like many Hydrangeas, this striking variety produces slightly different colour tones depending on the soil pH. Height and spread: 120cm (47").

Caution: irritant, harmful if eaten. When growing hydrangeas, choose a sunny or semi shaded spot that is sheltered from cold winter winds. Plant in borders in rich moist, well drained soil. Add plenty of well rotted manure to improve heavy clay or light sandy soils. Alternatively plant hydrangea in patio containers in soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3.
Feed and water container grown plants regularly. As plants increase in size they will require repotting into increasingly larger pots. In autumn, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of border grown plants. Leave faded hydrangea flower heads in place until new buds swell the following spring. These will help protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune stems in spring, removing any rubbing, damaged or diseased stems and reducing stems to maintain a permanent woody framework.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
