After the departure of Muzzy Izzet in the summer of 2004, Matt became the longest serving player at the club. He was Leicester's record signing at the time when Martin O' Neill paid Oxford £1.6m in January 1997. He scored the goal that secured the club's Premiership status that season & missed just three league matches in the next three years. His career hit a peak in the early part of 2000 with his match-winning, goalscoring efforts in the semi-final & Final of the Worthington Cup
- a trio of headers that quite rightly led to him lifting the trophy on his fifth visit to Wembley.

The photo was personally signed by Matt in a signing session carried out & attended by Allstarsignings.
