The Specialized Torch 1.0 Road Cycling Shoes are intended to take the performance & ergonomics of Specialized’s high end shoes & make them affordable. To do this Specialized have swapped out the carbon fibre soles for an injection-moulded nylon composite, simplified the construction of the shoe upper & used a Velcro fastening rather than Boa Dials. This makes the shoes substantially cheaper to make but leaves the ergonomics & a lot of the performance intact. Like all Specialized cycling shoes the Torch 1.0 uses Body Geometry technology to actively boost pedalling power & efficiency while making your feet more comfortable at the same time. The Torch 1.0 shoes comes with fittings for both 2 & 3 bolt cleats so you can use them with pretty much any pedal you want, whether road, mountain bike or touring. Features Body geometry sole construction & footbeds are ergonomically designed & scientifically tested to boost power, increase efficiency, & reduce chance of injury by optimizing hip, knee, & foot alignment. With a 6.0 stiffness index, the injection-molded nylon composite sole is engineered to be moderately stiff & plenty light. Three-strap offset velcro closure for a superior fit. The torch 2.0 road shoes are all about comfort, well comfort & performance that is. Due to the materials road shoes often feel stiff & uncomfortable. We decided to address this annoyance head on though. To do so weve implemented a 100% mesh & tpu construction on the torch 2.0 that allows for more wiggle room in the toe box & a less constrictive sock-like feel. The upper is then paired with our medium-stiffness FACT carbon sole & a rubber heel & toe that provide the perfect degree of off-the-bike traction. For the closure we added a single lightweight boa ip 1 dial that features tool-free snap replacement capability while also providing simple on-the-fly micro-adjustments.
