Not only this, but it also allowed Specialized to significantly drop the frame weight, so the Cru X now comes in around a scant 900 grams for a 56cm (*dependent on frame size & colour)—over 400 grams lighter than the previous frameset. A stiff & light frame isn’t enough for Cyclocross & Specialized pay great attention to compliance in the right places lowering the seat collar by two centimetres for more exposed seat post & cushion for big hits.
