The worlds first anvil pruner was developed & patented by Walther Schroder in Kiel, Germany in 1923. Randolph Schroder, the current Managing Director, is the third generation of his family to manufacture Lowe pruners, continuing the family tradition. The company's pruners are designed & manufactured to the highest standards, & although many British gardeners will not have heard of them, it is likely that they have owned a pair, because for many years the pruners were manufactured by Rolcut here in the UK & sold under that well-known brand name. - With the anvil design, the blade cuts down on a flat base. Lowe anvil secateurs provide perfect power transmission, making them suitable for use with even the toughest woods, & because less cutting force is required they are gentle on the hand & wrist. They feature a continuously adjustable handle width, are ideal for left- or right-handers, & will give you years of faithful service with minimal maintenance. Length 21cm (83/4). Combines the advantages of anvil & bypass secateurs: drawing cut against a solid base coupled with curved blades, providing an extremely precise cut, even in difficult-to-reach areas, & durable enough for use with even the hardest woods. (The continuously adjustable handle width of all these Lowe secateurs makes them suitable for hands of any size, reduces hand fatigue & significantly prolongs the working life of the blades.)
