Mouth-watering asparagus tips are still considered something of a luxury vegetable, & the supermarkets certainly price them as such! So why not grow your own! We offer healthy plants in 3 litre pots, which are quick to establish, enabling you to have your first delicious harvest next spring, followed by annual spring pickings for many years to come. Collection contains 3 plants (1 of each variety): Darlise
- A finest top quality hybrid which produces high yields of straight, finest top quality spears of exquisite flavour. Spears are green with violet tips, & are ready to pick slightly later than Gijnlim. Stewarts violet
- violet asparagus is thought by many people to be considerably sweeter than the sweetest green types. An attractive addition to salads, spears retain their colour when steamed. The first spears will appear in late April. Gijnlim
- A consistent top performer in recent trials, out-yielding others by up to 25%. It's early too, giving the first succulent tasty spears in mid to late April & continuing to crop heavily until mid June. It is an 'all male' hybrid, forming no seeds which means all its energies go into spear production.
