After the major popularity of the Azalea Encore varieties within our 2015 range we have managed to hunt high & low to find a real 'star' to add to this series! Starlite has a light green foliage & ruffled, 5cm (2) diameter beautifully delicate white/powder pink star shaped flower which has hits of bright pink stripes & speckles on the petals. Starlite will bloom in the spring, summer & autumn! This is our new favorite Azalea Encore variety! Supplied in 1 litre pot. Finally there is more to an azalea than just a couple of weeks of incredible blooms & only evergreen foliage for the rest of the year... now there are re-blooming azaleas that provide weeks of colour throughout the year. Azalea Encore is unique because after the first flush of spring flowers the shrubs produce new shoots & new flower buds. This new growth ensures you get another flush of flowers during the summer & again in the autumn. Once winter frosts set in the blooming will stop but the evergreen foliage will remain attractive throughout the winter. Indoor azaleas are grown & well known for their flamboyant, frilled blooms that will brighten up any space in an instant. Unlike their hardy cousins, these compact & neat evergreen shrubs will need bright light & frost-free conditions. Therefore, they are perfect for a cool porch, north facing window, or conservatory! Grow indoor Azaleas in a cool room with a temperature of between 13C (55F) to 16C (60F) with good humidity. Choose a brightly lit position & be sure to avoid warm, dry conditions as this will cause the plants to deteriorate rapidly. Be sure to water frequently with rainwater if possible as this will help to maintain an evenly moist compost. Feed it regularly between March & September when they are in active growth. Azaleas will benefit from regular misting to increase humidity also. After flowering, deadhead the fading & dying blooms & transfer to a shaded spot outdoors when all risk of frost has passed. Then by the end of September return to their position indoors to avoid any damage due to frost. ...
