You'd be forgiven for thinking that it isn't a Mahonia at all, but then it reminds us with its characteristic sprays of bright yellow, sweetly scented flowers, which are followed by attractive silvery-blue berries - something for the bees and the birds, as well as for you. And it's hardy to -12C!
