An unusual semi-evergreen climber bearing maroon-chocolate flowers which have an exotic, spicy fragrance with a hint of vanilla. The bright green, three-lobed leaves take on a violet tinge in winter. Can produce large, sausage-shaped fruits in a warm summer. Flowers March-May. Climbs up to 10m. Supplied in a 2 litre pot. There is something magical about tracking down an unexpected perfume in winter. This lovely shrub flowers when everything else is sleeping. Try growing alongside a path or entrance to brighten up your winter!
