Citrus Tree -Kumquat

Citrus Tree - KumquatGrow these exotic ‘chinese oranges’, a small citrus fruit!Kumquats, sometimes known as Chinese oranges, are the smallest of the common citrus fruits. Unusually, the skin and zest of a kumquat is sweet, while the juicy insides are tart with a hint of bitterness. A real winter treat, you can eat kumquats whole with no need to peel them. Why not try cooking them with sugar and spices for delicious compôtes and aromatic chutneys? Or make your own kumquat liqueur? These plants are self-fertile and one of the most reliable citrus plants for fruiting with heavy crops of bright orange fruit with a superb flavour. Supplied in a 2.5 litre pot.Citrus trees are surprisingly hardy, tolerating low temperatures and will thrive in most gardens given a warm sunny position.
In the UK they are perhaps best grown in a large pot or other suitable containers as this will make it easier for them to be moved as conditions determine. Citrus Trees will not tolerate wetter conditions and waterlogging for any length of time will usually result in the loss of a plant. For this reason, they should be grown in very free-draining soil or compost.
