Fig (Ficus) Negronne (violette De Bourdea) Sweet tasting figs with a;delicious scent! Fig 'violette de Bordeaux' is a hardy fig variety. Dating from around 1680, it was found to flourish in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles during the cold winter months. The small, violet-black figs have a wonderful perfume & lovely sweet flavour. This fig will produce two crops per year, & if protected over the winter, a second crop will ripen early during the following summer.
