Crimson Crush has the best tolerance to late blight disease we have ever seen! Plants can still exhibit infection on up to 15-20% of the leaf surface, but that's when the resistance kicks in & previously healthy plants can normally grow away from the attack! For 2016 we are able, for the first time, following extensive trialing, Crimson Crush is available as grafted plants! As well as its ability to shrug off even the worst blight, Crimson Crush will provide great yields of exceptionally fine tasting, large, round tomatoes (each weighing up to 200g). Bred for outdoor growing, it's the tomato that everyone should be planting this year! Why have we grafted Crimson Crush? Grafting onto specific rootstocks of course creates bigger, better, more disease-resistant plants with increased yield. Consequently, we believe, the extra vigour which the plant obtains will provide even better protection to late Blight attack & the plants will grow away from any infection even more rapidly. (Cordon variety
- one stem grown by pinching off side-shoots as they appear, needs staking & tying in.) This is not just a blight resistant tomato it is a blight beating tomato. Never be disappointed with your tomato crop when blight strikes again. Ideal for the home or the allotment.TOM EXPLAINS THE TECHNICAL STUFF YOU MAY WANT TO KNOWThis variety is unique in that it has two resistance genes to Phytopthera infestans (Late Blight), giving it full resistance to all strains of blight currently found in the UK. So if blight spores come into contact wth the plant the infection will not spread throughout the plant. It's been bred using natural methods & has been tested throughout the breeding process using Marker Assisted Selection (MAS). Please note: With regards to the nature of the blight resistance, plants can still show infection (up to 15-20%) of leaves, stems etc. without effecting fruit quality or yield. The plants having the resistance to be able to grow away from the attack. Please note: There is a possibility that your plant will include a grafting clip, if it does, this is an integral part of the grafting process & that it should be left in place. As the plant grows it will naturally shrug off the clip.

Elegance is a vigorous growing tomato, producing heavy trusses of standard size tomatoes of fine colour & flavour. Get a bumber crop of tasty fruit with our Turbo Tomatoes! Why are they called Turbo? We have taken a selection of our tastiest tomatoes available & grafted them onto an extremely vigorous-growing root stock. New for 2012
- an enhanced technique for tomato grafting: All Suttons grafted tomato varieties will use a new technique which will lead to even earlier & bigger crops, with fruiting beginning lower on the stem, producing at least one extra fruit truss per plant during the season! More vigorous & producing larger plants. Have greater resistance to pests & diseases. Have less susceptibility to nutritional disorders. Perform well with less heat in your greenhouse. Yield finest top quality fruit over a longer period compared to normal plants. Our trials have shown that grafted plants are incredibly healthy & give rise to larger, strong-growing plants giving bumper yields (as our pictures show!) They'll perform well outside but are particularly recommended for greenhouse growing, where they will fulfill their potential & allow you to get plants off to an early start in spring without paying a fortune on heating your greenhouse.TESTIMONIAL FROM JOE MAIDEN OF KITCHEN GARDEN MAGAZINE
- ' The rapid growth & truss production was exceptional, my own seed-raised tomatoes, which must have been about the same age as the grafted plants, were left well behind. The grafted plants were a great success, especially for earliness & flavour.'
