The Lemon 'Uereka' is a half-hardy tree produces large, juicy and thick skinned lemons which we feel taste better than any shop bought lemons. Quality is guaranteed to at least be equal to any supermarket product and at a good price too. Grown with glossy dark green foliage and cluster of small white fragrant flowers between April to June. This lemon tree is not only attractive but smells delightful. The lemon fruits make take up to a year to rippen, but the result is worth every minute. You can harvest your lemon when ripe and once picked, they will keep for up to two weeks.
Lemon trees are capable of surviving brief periods below 0C, but for the best result, grow in a large container and move indoors to a bright frost free position from autumn to spring. You don't need to worry about a pollination companion, as this lemon tree is self fertile. Propagated onto 'PS' rootstock and supplied as a large specimen bush (often in fruit) in a 5 litre pot. Eventual height: 3m (9'). Spread: 2.5m (8').
