Stephanotis Floribunda On A Hoop An elegant tubular white flower with a heavenly scent! This vigorous climber makes an elegant focal point to a bright, warm room. Stephanotis floribunda is grown for its waxy, heavenly scented, tubular white flowers which fill the air with their rich perfume which is reminiscent of Jasmine. The blooms emerge in summer between May & October, decorating the woody, twining stems. Even when not in flower, the foliage makes a handsome climber, & it will always catch your eye due to the circular display. The evergreen, dark green, leathery leaves are prominently veined on their undersides which cover the stems all year round. Although not the easiest house plant to grow, Stephanotis will certainly add a touch of glamour & elegance to your home.
Height: 3m (10'). Spread: 1.5m (5'). Stephanotis will need careful placement if it is to thrive. Bright light, away from the direct sunlight is essential. Place it in a warm room with a temperature above 18C (65F) during spring & summer. Winter temperatures can be lower but should not drop to below 7C (45F). Water it frequently between spring & autumn using tepid rainwater if that is possible & ensure that the pot can drain well after each watering. In winter, reduce watering to allow the compost to dry out slightly. Feed regularly between March & September when they are in active growth. Stephanotis appreciates a humid atmosphere, so place it on a tray filled with pebbles & water. As the water evaporates it will increase humidity around the plant. Please note: Some houseplants are toxic to pets if ingested, please seek advice from a veterinary professional if you believe it has been consumed. Ensure you take a sample of the plant with you. The size of the plant will differ depending on when in the year it is purchased – visuals are an indication only.
