Produces good crops of large, juicy, violet-blue fruits in autumn. They're good eating plums but they come into their own as cookers & make the best plum jam, plum tarts, or stewed plums. A self fertile variety, it does not need to be planted with another plum to produce reliable crops, & its resistance to plum bacterial canker is an added bonus. RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. Supplied as a bare root tree. Grown on St Julien A rootstock which is semi-dwarfing, providing a medium-sized tree of 22.5m (78).
