The magical thing about this wizard, is that the flowers have no petals!!! The sepals (the bit that normally protects the flower when its a bud) are larger than normal, & look like green petals when it opens. Producing large black cones with a golden crown, they look amazing in the garden & in a vase. They also work well as dried flowers, as they have no petals to dry. Truly magical. This lovely variety has two things going for it over the standard purpurea type. Firstly it is larger flowered, & secondly, unlike the normal purpurea, the petals are upward facing the effect of which is to show more of the stunning rosy-violet colour. Painstakingly selected from just one plant that showed this much enhanced flower form, Bravado is the result. Flowers April-July. RHS Perfect For Pollinators. Height 90-105cm (3-3'). HP
