The Tiger worm (Brandling worm/ Manure Worm Eisenia fetida) is very good at the rapid processing of Organic waste into nutrient rich compost, we often get asked which type of worm is best for composting, in short the answer is probably a mixture of both dendrobaena worms & tiger worms as both types have a huge appetite & both species have a slight difference in ‘needs’ so combining both dendrobaena & tigers in the wormery (they only breed with their own species & live quite happily together) ensures the wormery works efficiently. ...

Tillandsia Dyeriana Cancun Orange

This stunning and exotic Bromeliad boasts an upright rosette of foliage, creating a tall ‘vase’ of curving leaves which collects rainwater which helps them in its natural jungle habitat. With maturity Tillandsia dyeriana 'Cancun Orange' grows stiff, arching stems of bright orange flowers that last for months! Like other Bromeliads, Tillansia will die back after it flowers, which then gets replaced by new plants that grow from the base of the original plant. This tropical beauty is ideal for creating an eye-catching focal point in your home. Perfect for a well-lit spot in a warm, humid room. Height: 50cm (20). Spread: 30cm (12). Bromeliads thrive in a warm, bright humid room with a minimum temperature of 15C (60F). Position them in good light but away from the direct glare of the
sun. At all times, the crown of Tillandsia should contain some water. The best way to achieve this is by spraying the foliage with rainwater which will then drain and collect into its leafy central vase. Water regularly to maintain evenly moist soil. Reduce watering during the winter months, but do not let it dry out completely. Feed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. Bromeliads will benefit from regular misting to increase humidity.
