In 2001 Grants became the first blended Scotch whisky to be finished in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. Brian Kinsman, master distiller at Grants, & his team hand picked each Oloroso sherry casks & only chose to pick first fill sherry casks because the young casks retain all the goodness & fresh sherry wood notes. Casks that have never been used for nothing other than maturing sherry. The sherry casks get filled with Grant's aged whisky & that gets left in the sherry casks for four months to acquire the rich flavour of dried fruit, warm spice & sweet honey.
