In 1796 William Perry opened the doors of his wine merchant in Bristol. His main wines were imported from Spain & Portugal. In 1860 John & Edward Harvey were creating a new sherry & invited a woman to come & sample the new mixture called Bristol milk. Upon tasting the new mix said mentioned that the mixture was too creamy to be milk & then Harveys Bristol Cream was invented. In 1895 Harveys was given a royal warrant as sole provider of wine to the royal family, Queen Victoria at the time, & continued to do this until 2008 when it was changed to Sherrie supplier.
