Supporting the core are 1000 responsive pocket springs & two layers of 2000 mini pocket springs above & below a layer of hand teased horsehair, giving the mattress 5000 springs in total. Each pocket spring is individually encased in its own pocket & able to move independently enabling the mattress to adapt to your individual body shape providing you tailored support. This also means you can move about in your sleep without the whole mattress responding. Pocket sprung mattresses are designed to relieve the build-up of pressure points as the weight of your body is distributed across many different springs. Crafted with natural material, this mattress is constructed using lambswool, pashmina, cotton, flax & a delicate blend of bamboo & alpaca fibres. The combination of natural characteristics in these comfort layers help to regulate heat & keep moisture at bay, whilst the flax provides hygienic anti-bacterial properties.
