your nearest and dearest

Yep at
the press of one very
large red button you will
be launched at a rate of
knots into the sky.
It’s all a little bit
mad. You will be fully
harnessed up and then
connected to a single
bungee cord which is
anchored to the ground.
The cord is then
stretched...and
stretched… and
stretched a little bit
more until it is at
maximum tension.
this moment that you’ll
be looking into the eyes
of your loved ones who
are on the stage. They
will be playing the role
of Launch Controllers and
they will be the ones
firing you skywards with
the simple press of a
button.
As you
heart starts pounding the
countdown clock starts
ticking. Is that an
ever-so-slightly evil
smile on their face as
they stand there hand
poised over the button?
Whilst this isn’t
Gorbachev or Reagan from
the Cold War days the
launch controllers do
have the power and
pressing the button will
have consequences -
namely you flying upwards
leaving nothing but your
screams behind!
