You might think the words 'electric' & 'go karts' could never successfully go together but when you see just how nifty these Eco Karts are you'll soon be converted. The world of West London karting is totally electric! We have to admit we had our doubts too when we heard this karting track near Acton runs an entire fleet of electric vehicles. They are slightly heavier than your standard petrol versions but technology has come on in leaps & bounds & during testing at the track before going into service it turned out these Lithium battery powered models actually out accelerated their gas-guzzling cousins. So hop on & see just how thrilling electric karting actually is. Capable of speeds of up to 40mph & having the very distinct advantage of zero emissions (keeping the London powers that be & the neighbours happy) this is responsible karting at its fastest & most fun. The circuit in West London is superb. A good 500m long it's multi-level with some impressive banked corners (amongst the seven bends in total) interspersed with some nice high-speed straights. To give you an idea of what you should be aiming for the average lap time here is 28 seconds so let's see how you compare when you get out there. The format in Acton gives you two 15-minute driving sessions. Your first outing is a practice & qualifier so you can get used to the figure of eight track pattern & how these electric-driven karts handle. Then get your ignition on in your electric go kart & get ready for your second session. It's the race proper so it's time to step up your game & get out there to race. All that remains to be seen is who will win the environmentally friendly karting trophy at Acton's action-packed circuit. ...

The Enrica Rocca Cookery School is a pan-European culinary phenomenon with cookery courses held in Notting Hill & across the waters in Venice where Enrica dubbed the ' Cooking Countess' by the food media currently resides. These vouchers give you the chance to serve up a little bit of Venice on a plate - in Notting Hill. Having grown up surrounded by food made using only the best & freshest ingredients it's little wonder that Enrica's daughters have stepped forward to continue the Enrica Rocca cookery school tradition in the heart of London. So meet your hosts for the day: Claire & Charlotte. Wiser than their years when it comes to all things culinary you will learn a lot from this enthusiastic duo. But before you even get to the point of rolling up yours sleeves & getting your aprons on there's one essential step - gathering the ingredients. And that's what makes this Notting Hill course so unique in that before the cooking it's the shopping. You will meet at Portobello Road market which is a vibrant & bustling melange of stalls selling food stuffs from all over the world. Indeed Portobello is ideal for finding all those typical Italian ingredients that make all the difference when it comes to creating authentic food. Laden down with bags bursting with fresh produce & herbs (some of which you might never have heard of!) it's time to head back to Enrica's bright & airy Notting Hill abode. As you gather round in her professional-standard kitchen the goodies you brought from Portobello market will be unpacked & the cooking begins. The menu will include some impressive looking (and equally impressive tasting) antipasti starters a traditional pasta dish & a fresh meat or fish dish. In total you might be preparing up to half a dozen dishes but don't worry there's no need to try & remember everything or make notes as electronic recipe cards are provided for all participants. As the wonderful smells start wafting through the air this lovely kitchen in Notting Hill has suddenly transformed itself into a hive of activity in a typical Italian home with lots of chatter over the chopping & the occasional chink of a wine glass being refilled. This is what Enrica Rocca's cookery school is all about - friendly lively & really rather brilliantly flamboyant. ...
