Learn how to catch a trout on the fly when you go fly fishing in Hampshire! These half day & full day lessons take place on a tranquil in-land lake just off junction 2 of the M27. It's about as peaceful & idyllic as you can get making it the perfect backdrop for a spot of fly fishing with an expert angler. Your tutor is Steve Ward. He's been fishing for decades. He has an expert eye when it comes to reading the waters & he's fished on rivers lakes & seas all over the country & even the world. He has some impressive personal records including a 16lb 1oz Barbel in the Thames & several 20lb+ carp & pike catches to his name too. Steve has a Level 1 Award in Coaching Angling from the Angling Trust & loves nothing more than having the chance to impart his knowledge of fishing & wildlife to beginner & novice anglers. All the gear you need to get started is included & no previous fishing experience is needed. & if you've never casted off before Steve will spend time with you on the bank practicing the art before you head to the lakeside to fish. The waters you'll be fly fishing on with Steve are private lakes near Wellow village. They're well-maintained & well-stocked with brown & rainbow trout offering an ideal teaching base for those wanting to learn about fishing on the fly. Of course even with an expert angler by your side there's no guarantee the fish will be biting but you will certainly be giving yourself the best chance possible when you take a lesson with Steve. On these fly fishing Hampshire experiences a catch & release policy is operated although you can usually take some fish home if you ask. We think you'll love these quiet lake waters & there's even a local pub nearby for a nice pint & meal before or after your lesson if you're on the half day experience. For those on the full day course lunch can be arranged there. All in all a great day's fishing is in order!
