Thought a Solent Yacht Charter was only for the rich & famous? Well think again as this experience will see you sailing in the Solent on a skippered yacht on a half or full day excursion or for that extra 'wow' factor an evening sail so you can lap up the views as the sun starts setting over the water. During the summer months there really is nothing more relaxing than taking to the seas in a fancy ocean-going yacht. The idea behind these charter experiences is that they serve as a great introduction to yachting if you want to get involved with the actual sailing or you can just relax & gaze out across the Solent. We particularly love the evening sails when the waters are calmer & quieter so you can soak up the last of the evening sunshine from the deck of the yacht that you have 'chartered' from the marina on the Solent at Hamble. These super 36ft ocean going yachts are large enough to accommodate seven novice yacht lovers under the watchful eye of the yacht's master skipper whose role is to sail the vessel out of Hamble & onto the waters of the Solent or Southampton so you can experience the sheer bliss of being out on a yacht charter in the evening when most of the tourists are long gone or during the day to mingle with other water craft & see all the daytime activity. Of course you are perfectly welcome to simply sit back & enjoy the sail or you can 'have a go' as an active crew member onboard to help keep this 36ft yacht on course. Your skipper will show you what needs to be done & we've heard he's full of anecdotes & fascinating yachting facts too (like explaining how a yacht can sail faster then the wind!) to keep you entertained. Your Solent yacht charter sets sail from Hamble & lasts around two hours for the sunset cruise or a half or full day for the daytime Solent sail. It's totally up to you whether you get involved in sailing the yacht on the Solent or if you prefer to just relax & take it all in. Your skipper will also point out all the sights for you before you head back to the harbour with a nice chilled glass of vino in hand or if you're on the day sail there's a steady supply of hot drinks & biccies. Absolute sailing bliss on the Solent onboard a superb ocean going luxury yacht!! ...

Calling all young drivers in Edinburgh! If you’re aged between 12 & 16 years this is your chance to get a head start in driving. We are offering junior first-time driving experiences for teens at Ingliston circuit.

Youngsters just love the idea of being able to actually drive a real car before they can legally do so. These first-time driving experiences allow teens to do just that
- in complete safety. The sessions all take place well away from public roads & are hosted by specialist Advanced Driving Instructors.

Ingliston Circuit on the outskirts of Edinburgh is a great place to learn to drive. It’s located within the Royal Highland Centre & just a tyre-skid away from Edinburgh Airport. Ingliston stopped hosting motor racing events in 1995 (after having seen the likes of Scottish legends Jackie Stewart & David Coulthard race there) but is now a really popular driving experience venue.

Your teenage drivers will be tackling the Teen Track a specially coned-out track that’s just for kids. It’s a really cool layout that

Includes::
things like roundabouts & junctions so little ones can get a feel of what it’s like to drive for real.

This Edinburgh young driver programme uses small city cars such as the Vauxhall Adam for these experiences. All cars are dual-control so junior drivers will never be out of control even if there are a couple of stalls or a bit of kangarooing going on!

With the instructor sitting alongside in the front passenger seat they’ll be giving encouragement & directions to make sure your little one gets the most out of their time behind the wheel. It might be a bit nerve-wracking for them at first but there’s no denying it’s pretty cool being able to drive!

After the welcome & safety briefing kids will be out in the cars for around 15 minutes. By the end of experience they’ll have a decent idea about car control & have a basic understanding of the rules of the road. Do you know a young driver in Edinburgh who’d be up for this? Visit RAF Elvington on this Yorkshire Air discovery day & combine a ride in a helicopter with a visit to a museum of flight! This most comprehensive of days out is the perfect choice for aviation fans spanning decades of aviation history & bringing it very much to life.

Yorkshire Air Museum is the country’s largest independent air museum & it’s filled to the rafters with aircraft vehicles & more. It’s in the grounds of former Bomber Base RAF Elvington not very far from the city of York. It’s also home to the Allied Forces Memorial which you will be getting to see from a rather unique angle…

That’s because your discovery day not only

Includes::
time to take in all the wonderful exhibits at the museum but also a buzz flight as you get airborne above Yorkshire in a modern executive helicopter taking off from the site.

As you gently lift off from the ground you’ll see how the land lies here at Elvington. It’s pretty much how it was during World War Two with the control tower various hangars & perimeter roads still very much in evidence & it’s amazing to be able to look down on it all including that emotive memorial from your seat in the Bell Jet Ranger chopper.

Inside the museum is a total revelation. The collection spans the many decades us humans have been obsessed with flying. From the parachute that dates back to 1853 & pre-war trainer planes to Cold War jets like the Mirage & the modern Panavia Tornado you’ll see them all at the Yorkshire Air Museum. There are also Fire & Rescue & support vehicles as well as armoured vehicles for you to discover too.

Immerse yourself in stories of Bomber Command in WW2 read about the pioneers of flight visit the control tower & radio room then take a peak at the air gunner’s collection & the airman’s billet. & as for the archives the Yorkshire Air Museum has an impressive collection of books records documents artefacts & photos that totals over 250 000 items.

And we must mention the museum cafe where you’ll be having your cream tea. It’s just like an authentic NAAFI restaurant that’s to say the Navy Army & Air Forces Institute which was set up by the Government to ensure forces personnel always somewhere to eat a decent meal wherever they were deployed in the world. That still rings true today with delicious breakfasts snacks Sunday lunches & your cream tea being served!
