Take on the rapids on these Lee Valley white water rafting sessions! This is where canoe slalom events were held during the London 2012 Olympic Games. It has now been transformed into the Lee Valley White Water Centre & it’s open to everyone who fancies making a bit of a splash in the fast-moving flow!

As this is Hertfordshire (and not the Bahamas) you’ll get a wetsuit wet boots & buoyancy aid to keep you warm on the rapids. You’ll listen to a safety briefing talk on dry land & then you’ll carry out essential safety tests with experienced raft guides before taking to these Lee Valley waters.

These exercises include things like working together in the raft to shift bodyweight & adopting the ‘down’ position on the floor of the raft. You’ll then have a short swimming assessment where you’ll learn to lie on your back with your feet up & pointing downstream. After that there’s just time to have a go at catching & using the line to get back to the water’s edge.

Now it’s Raft o’ Clock & you’re off riding the white waters of Lee Valley with your comrades & onboard guide. It’s exhilarating fast-paced & gallons & gallons of fun out there. Anyone coming along to watch can hang out at The Terrace Bar & Café which boasts a funky design & great views of this Olympic course.

Lee Valley white water rafting takes place within the River Lee Country Park which is just outside the M25 bordering Hertfordshire & Essex. As well as top-notch water sports there are loads of other activities in & around the water; from children’s play areas & farms to a winter ice rink. So paddles up & enjoy your Lee Valley white water rafting day out!

City dwellers will love the 20 minute skyline tour. There is something really quite magical about seeing your all too familiar city centre from a very unfamiliar angle & that's just what you get as the heli swoops over & tours iconic buildings such as St George's Tower (known locally as the Blue Tower) & the Cardinal Telephone Exchange which is one of the tallest office blocks in the East Midlands. Sporting fans will adore seeing the King Power Stadium where Leicester City play Welford Road home to the Leicester Tigers & Grace Road for a spot of Leicestershire County cricket. The country's smallest county comes into full view on our extended tour. The heli cruises out of Leicestershire & into Rutland on this 30 minute trip that also takes in the wonderful manmade reservoir including the Normanton Church museum that sits right on the shoreline. Leeds Castle Spitfire Tour

Book your seat on a Leeds Castle Spitfire tour and make an historic aviation fan very very happy indeed! While the stunning Spitfire is flying over lovely Leeds Castle a de Havilland Devon will be airborne at the same time. This is your chance to be on that plane for unparalleled views of both the castle and the Spitfire. You and just seven other passengers will be boarding the wonderful 1950s Devon with the very exclusive mission of tailing a Spitfire in the air. As if that wasn't thrilling enough the whole scenario will be played out in the airspace above around and over Leeds Castle. That's one seriously stunning backdrop for any flight let alone one with a Spitfire next to you. As you circle around the castle swathed in acres of green fields towering trees and that glossy moat it's a
great opportunity to take photos of this most picturesque location that's a favourite tourist destination. But while you're snapping keep an ear out for that Merlin engine. As the noise grows get ready for the moment the Spitfire comes into view and then leads the charge. These are the very skies where endless dogfights took place during the Battle of Britain pitching the Messerschmitts of the Luftwaffe against the RAF's Spitfires. As the fighter commands battled to defend the British shores aircraft such as the Spitfire and Hurricane were key to our aerial defences. Thankfully all is calm on the western front for these sorties making them all together more leisurely outings for all involved but you can just imagine what it must have been like as a young RAF pilot in a Spitfire. Once
you've taken off it's just a quick hop northwards towards the village of Leeds for the Devon to get into position ready for the arrival of the star of the show. You'll be in the air for around a total of 20-minutes on these Leeds Castle Spitfire tours giving you plenty of time to admire both the castle and the plane and take lots of photographs too.
