Book onto a rocket building workshop & learn how to build a proper rocket! & when we say rocket we mean an actual 1m-high missile capable of being propelled several thousand feet in the air. Yes you read that right. You’ll be building a rocket that’ll be heading way up high in the sky! How exciting is that?

Luckily you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to be into rocketry. These innovative rocket building workshops will take you through the whole process in just a day. From the initial design through assembly & onto preparing the mounts for the launch it’s fascinating stuff. You even learn how to install & test a parachute for your rocket’s re-entry so it lands gently enough that you can re-use your h&-crafted rocket.

Each participant gets to build their own rocket & the culmination of all that hard work in the workshop is a launch event where you will get to fire your rocket off into space (well into the blue at least!). You’ll be transported to the special outdoor rocket launch zone where the final preparations will be undertaken ready for blast off. Once launched into orbit your attention turns to tracking the rocket & then recovery.

Of course behind every great rocket is a team of great scientists. Here at this Rocket HQ Ben is head of rocketry. He’s been building rockets for many many years. He’s overseen more than 1500 launches with high performance hybrid nitrous oxide-powered designs producing 10KM of thrust & regularly reaching between 20 000 & 30 000ft in the stratosphere.

Ben launched his fully-fledged UK rocket business based out of former RAF Coltishall near Norwich where your workshop will take place. His aim is to provide training simulation & services to the UK space industry including launching rockets with payloads or for high altitude weather monitoring for example.

These one-day rocket building workshops give you the chance to find out just how you can build & launch your very own space rocket. Ideally aimed at grown ups these fab experiences allow you to realise those childhood rocket-building dreams. Time to get ready to go to infinity & beyond & book your place!

Product Description

Explore forgotten villages ancient towns & miles & miles of wetlands on this very special Kent & Sussex coastal tour! This is your chance to book a place on a Champagne sightseeing flight departing from Lydd Airport that'll whisk you over some of the wildest parts of Kent & neighbouring East Sussex.

The Romney Marsh wetlands cover over 100 square miles & are some of the least inhabited parts of East Sussex & Kent. Miles & miles of flat marshy land down to the dunes on the coast only accessible by winding narrow roads means some parts are still pretty much untouched by urbanisation making it a real delight to discover by air.

After a Champagne reception it's time to board your plane. Your flight path will take you over Rye the pretty little town built where the river Rother Tillingham & Brede meet. Part of the ' Cinque Ports' in Medieval times you'll quite clearly be able to make out those steep cobbled little streets cute houses & tea shops from your window seat.

As you fly over the Ypres Tower & the windmill you'll see the port where working fishing boats moor alongside leisure yachts before following the Rother down to Camber Sands; East Sussex's only sand dunes that stretch to the Kent border. See if you can spot evidence of the fortification of the dunes from the Second World War & watch as kite boarders & surfers make the most of predominant winds this area of coastline is famous for.

The Romney Marshes were always known for sheep farming & whilst numbers have declined you might still see some munching on the salty grasslands as you fly over this distinctive Kentish landscape which was also much-loved by smugglers & gangs back in the day.

As the aircraft turns back in-land you'll be able to look down on Appledore where you'll clearly be able to see the Royal Military Canal which was built during the threat of invasion by Napoleon & the ancient Rhee Wall waterway that dates back to the 13th century.

We think this Kent & Sussex coastal tour offers a superb introduction to the two counties with everything from Martello towers to the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch railway all visible from the air. & what could be better than a glass of Champers before your very special departure? A sightseeing tour by executive plane that's sure to please.
