Gorgeous glamping in lovely Lancashire! This little hamlet of h&-crafted shepherd's huts is ready to welcome you on a one or two-night break for up to four people. Time to pack your bag & go to this delightful corner of the country! These glamping huts are nestled together in a rather unique location. Mid-way between Preston & Blackburn you'll find Samlesbury Hall. It's an eye-catching medieval black & white half-timber framed house that is steeped in history. Spending a night or two in the grounds of the hall on a glamping break is a real treat for all ages. The gathering of colourful huts is in a quiet spot & whilst being rural & rustic they do have all those little luxuries you want. Each one has an en-suite with hot shower & toilet (so no getting lost in the dark trying to find the toilet block!) & a set of double bunk beds (one double bed above the other). The huts are all heated so you're nice & toasty & are kitted out with tea & coffee-making facilities lighting & sockets to charge phones etc. There are no cooking facilities inside but there's a fire pit outside & you're welcome to BBQ. But in all honesty with the Hall's restaurant (open for breakfast & lunch) & Dottie's Wafflery plus the plethora of local eateries in the village you won't be wanting to cook anyway. What you will want to be doing during your glamping break is visiting & sightseeing. This part of Preston is very rural with lovely farm shops country parks & the River Ribble running through the Lancashire countryside. Of course you must make sure you take time to visit Samlesbury Hall itself with regular guided tours events & activities all of which are free. Our special tip if you go with the kids: take torches & explore the grounds after dark. It's great fun. Then in daylight don't miss the playground & the mini golf then go & say hi to the rescue animals that also live on the estate. We think going glamping in Lancashire is a great way to spend a weekend or a midweek break. Don't forget each hut sleeps up to four (kids or adults) so they represent great value for your money too. Being heated & insulated they're open all year round so you can be a happy glamper in any season! ...

Hark back to the classic days of Group B rallying on these Sierra Cosworth rally experiences! The Sierra rally car was a bit of an icon in the motorsport world of the mid 1980s. Hundreds of thousands of L & GL versions (remember them?) roamed the streets but on the rally track it was the Sierra Cosworth that ruled the roost. Well when we say that Ford Motorsport's Sierra RS Cosworth never actually won a World Championship title overall
- but the car & its drivers certainly had some serious fun trying. The likes of rallying legends Carlos Sainz Stig Blomquist & Ari Vatanen have all been at the wheel of a Sierra Cosworth rally with many a stage win. The problem was the Ford Sierra was rallying at a time when the newfangled four wheel drive mean machines were coming out in force led by the Lancia Delta Integrale & the Toyota Celica. Whilst holding its own on the tarmac stages the rear wheel drive Cossie just couldn't match these cars for grip on gravel no matter how much power it boasted. But in today's motorsporting world where every car is all wheel drive it's a real rallying treat to be able to drive the rear wheel drive Ford Cosworth. This centre has a souped up four door Sierra Sapphire saloon & the classic two-door RS Cosworth
- complete with mahoosive whale tail. We have to say there will be a lot of overseer on the gravel stage if you don't get the Cossy under control. & that's what learning to rally is all about. Once you've got to grips with the handling when driving along a surface that feels like a bed of marbles you'll be able to increase the speed & improve your times with every lap. There to help you will be a team of instructors led by school owner Tom. He's pretty good at this rallying lark so hopefully you'll learn some of best bits of rallying from him & the pros. & for that same reason we highly recommend the hotlap to go with your Sierra Cosworth rally session
- it'll show you what it's really all about & it'll be in one of the Sierras!

Sherwood Biplane Experience

Introducing the Sherwood Ranger - a sporting biplane like no other! This wonderfully retro-styled aircraft looks just like the vintage biplanes of old yet it's brand new and built with all modern technology and materials. This is your chance to experience this amazing Sherwood biplane for yourself. At first glance the Sherwood Ranger looks like your typical vintage two seater tail-dragger biplane. Look more closely and you'll soon see this is totally new plane - and it's a microlight! Yep incredibly this aircraft is officially classed as microlight as even with two passengers onboard it still comes in under the 450kg weight limit. Hats off to the designers and manufacturers on this. Who'd have thought you could construct an airworthy modern biplane in such a way? It's all down to the
choice of materials. Sherwood Rangers boast an aluminium tube frame with wood and fabric making it light and agile in flight. And you will be finding all this out for yourself with these very special Sherwood biplane experiences which include the opportunity to take the controls too. Unique to Membury Airfield this is the only place in the UK currently offering flights in these fantastic modern biplanes. They are truly superb to fly in. With that open-cockpit feel and the wind whistling through the wing struts it's like being back in a bygone age of aviation but without all the hefty restoration costs! One other huge advantage over traditional biplanes is the fact that the Sherwood Ranger has a totally modern control system designed to handle with precision. Pitch is controlled by the tail
elevator yaw by the fin-mounted rudder and roll by the four ailerons and it's all driven by a modern power unit offering an incredible power to weight ratio. Depending on the model the Rangers can easily cruise at 75mph with single seaters boasting a climb rate of 1450ft/min. British-based manufacturers The Light Aircraft Company lovingly hand-builds every single Sherwood Ranger. The aim (and we"e) is to 'create quality aircraft that incorporate safety performance style and value for money using innovative production methods materials and design'. We think they've certainly done just that with the brilliant two-seat Sherwood Ranger so book your flight now for a modern all together lighter take on biplane flying!
