Hark back to the classic days of Group B rallying on these Sierra Cosworth rally experiences! The Sierra rally car was a bit of an icon in the motorsport world of the mid 1980s. Hundreds of thousands of L & GL versions (remember them?) roamed the streets but on the rally track it was the Sierra Cosworth that ruled the roost. Well when we say that Ford Motorsport's Sierra RS Cosworth never actually won a World Championship title overall
- but the car & its drivers certainly had some serious fun trying. The likes of rallying legends Carlos Sainz Stig Blomquist & Ari Vatanen have all been at the wheel of a Sierra Cosworth rally with many a stage win. The problem was the Ford Sierra was rallying at a time when the newfangled four wheel drive mean machines were coming out in force led by the Lancia Delta Integrale & the Toyota Celica. Whilst holding its own on the tarmac stages the rear wheel drive Cossie just couldn't match these cars for grip on gravel no matter how much power it boasted. But in today's motorsporting world where every car is all wheel drive it's a real rallying treat to be able to drive the rear wheel drive Ford Cosworth. This centre has a souped up four door Sierra Sapphire saloon & the classic two-door RS Cosworth
- complete with mahoosive whale tail. We have to say there will be a lot of overseer on the gravel stage if you don't get the Cossy under control. & that's what learning to rally is all about. Once you've got to grips with the handling when driving along a surface that feels like a bed of marbles you'll be able to increase the speed & improve your times with every lap. There to help you will be a team of instructors led by school owner Tom. He's pretty good at this rallying lark so hopefully you'll learn some of best bits of rallying from him & the pros. & for that same reason we highly recommend the hotlap to go with your Sierra Cosworth rally session
- it'll show you what it's really all about & it'll be in one of the Sierras!

Nothing beats driving solo around a track & on this single seater driving experience you'll be doing just that around a challenging purpose-built circuits. So pop your racing helmet on get ready on the start grid & follow those chequered flag dreams! The day you get to drive a single seater starts with familiarisation laps in a performance training car to give you valuable experience of the track so you can drive every corner & curve of the route. Your instructor sitting in the front passenger seat will explain the best way of making smooth rapid progress around the track in readiness for your main 'single-handed' event. You then advance into the world of single seaters finding yourself strapped into the stripped out cockpit of a legendary race tuned 1800cc Formula Ford. These open wheeled racers weigh next to nothing & have handling that's way beyond what you'll have ever experienced before. All current Formula One drivers started their careers going head to head in cars just like this
- now it's your turn. As you head out onto the track you'll have to adjust pretty quickly to the fact that it's just you & the single seater out there
- there's no room for co-pilots or passengers in these single seater machines. You probably won't remember much from your familiarisation laps as you're bound to be concentrating hard on just keeping a controlled lid on all that amazing power under foot but soon you'll get into the rhythm of it all hopefully getting faster & smoother on each lap. At the end of your single seater driving experience you will be presented with an individual driving assessment & personalised certificate. If you're looking for an unusual & memorable gift idea then one of our racing gift vouchers may fit the bill nicely. Join a genuine motorsport racing team for a thrilling single seater track drive! These experiences use fully prepped cars that are being driven in the current Formula Renault & Formula Ford Championships in the UK giving you one of the most authentic days out on the circuit possible. It's a case of 'move over team drivers it's time to give us amateurs a go!' when you get your hands on the steering wheel of a genuine racing machine. The Renault single seater has a Tatuus chassis & a 2 litre Renault Clio engine inside. Now that may not sound very impressive but when we tell you these things do 0-60mph in just 2.7 seconds & can get to 100mph in less then five we think you'll agree the stats speak for themselves. The Formula Ford open-wheeler is a very similar beast when it comes to lap times & acceleration. Underneath those wings & attached to those slicks is a Sinter chassis developed in close partnership with the race team that hosts these single seat track days. Inside it's all very F1 with six-speed sequential gear box & yes there's even space for an onboard camera to capture your every move (images of which are included in the Gold experience package). The engine in these beasts is 1.6 litre turbo just like Lewis Hamilton's F1 car! & at almost 200bhp they're well on the way to giving you the best idea of what it's like to be him! So what can you expect on your single seater experience day? First up you need to have a safety briefing & then get yourself kitted out in a race suit & full face helmet. Then you have to get fitted into the seat. This is because proper racing seats are how can we put it rather snug (hence the height restrictions of 5ft-6ft 4") & they need to be to stop you being buffeted & knocked around whilst you drive. And remember these are actual race cars used in the current Ford & Renault single seater driving Championship & these track days are run by one of the motorsport teams competing in the series so by participating in a single seater track day you will get an insight into just how a professional team is run as it supports young hopefuls as they drive their way up through the ranks of FIA-approved motor racing. ...

Product Description

Book your seat on these sightseeing flights from Nottingham Airport & get ready to see the best bits of Nottingham & Nottinghamshire from the air. These helicopter pleasure flights depart from Nottingham Airport at Tollerton just south of the city centre. Let’s get ready to fly!

We have a full schedule of flights for your sightseeing pleasure in Nottingham. In just a few minutes you can go a long way in a helicopter so even on the shortest heli hop there’s plenty to look at. & of course if you're new to helicopter travel don’t underestimate the thrill of experiencing rotary flight for the first time. It’s noisier in there than perhaps you imagined but that feeling when you just float away from the ground is utterly amazing.

Once you’re up in the skies above Nottingham’s Airport you’ll see the city centre on the horizon the local villages of Keyworth & Tollerton surrounded by the snaking A roads you’ll probably know only too well. How refreshing is it to not be stuck in a queue on the A52 & to be whirring through the air on your sightseeing flight instead?

As well as all the usual city infrastructure you’ll get a lovely view of the National Watersports Centre at Holme Pierrepont on all pleasure flights out of Nottingham Airport. It’s just a quick leap over the ring road to this impressive collection of lakes fed by the River Trent.

Of course flight paths vary according to your chosen pleasure flight duration & any other air traffic restrictions but it’s most definitely going to be a mix of sports culture & landmarks over Nottingham. Football & cricket is represented in the Trent Bridge area whilst Nottingham’s famous castle sits pretty on a hill to the east of the city centre & is easy to spot from your chopper.

Longer flights will take you over another much-loved Nottingham spot; Wollaton Hall with its deer park & lovely grounds right by the main Nottingham Uni campus. & if you opt for the 35 mile sightseeing flight out of Nottingham Airport you’ll head further north to the delightful Newstead Abbey
- the dissolved monastery that was home to Byron’s ancestors. It’s going to be pure pleasure on these heli flights!
