Enjoy a maximum of three hours of paddle boarding in Scotland! These half day sessions aimed at beginners will take you from a wobbly land lubber to a smooth-paddling SUPer in a matter of hours. & all this takes place in the stunning Scottish setting of the River Tay near Aberfeldy. Get set for great scenery & the chance to learn a new sport. Stand up paddleboarding is the perfect sport for Scotland as it can be done on oceans lochs & rivers. It's a sort of combination of canoeing & surfing. Standing on a long flat board is just like surfing but then you propel yourself by paddling which is clearly more like canoeing. Despite this slight identity crisis SUP is getting really popular
- so much so that it's being considered for inclusion in the Olympics. For first-time SUPers in Scotland the River Tay is nice & gentle. Calmer waters combined with a large floaty board makes for a more stable start to your Scottish SUPing adventures. Indeed the right equipment is key to getting the hang of paddle boarding. The team at this adventure centre in Scotland will pick a board to suit your size (too small & it'll be unstable) & a paddle too. You might think that you need to be strong to SUP. It's actually more about technique. Having said that the instructors in Scotland will tell you paddle boarding is an all over body workout especially core strength. As you take to the Tay for the first time on your board with paddle in hand the trickiest part is getting up. You'll start by kneeling & then progress to standing. As we said SUP is all about technique so think slightly bent legs & gazing out to the horizon. The number one rule is to not look down at your feet
- it's sure to unsteady you! These & other golden nuggets of information will be shared with you by the coaches. Before you know it you'll be up on your feet on the board looking around at the beautiful Scottish scenery as your paddle smoothly around. Of course learning to paddle board in Scotland you might take a couple of early falls but keep the faith get yourself back up on the board & dip that paddle back in that River Tay water. Good tuition good quality equipment in a very lovely setting
- what more could you as a newbie SUPer ask for?

When you go paddle boarding in Warwickshire you start right in the heart of Leamington Spa at the Boating Lake home to the Leam Boat Centre. It's a little oasis in the middle of the rather lovely Mill Gardens right next to the meandering River Leam & opposite Jephson Gardens. There's actually been a boating lake here since Victorian times. After falling into disrepair the attractive Victorian red brick boat house was restored to its former glory in 2001. Local teacher & youth worker Matt Bishop saw the potential in the place & now the Leam Boat Centre is thriving as a water sports centre that's open to all. We're offering you the chance to have a go at the hugely popular sport of SUP with either a taster or a discovery experience. The tasters teach you the basics whilst the discovery will see you heading off on a little paddle tour to Newbold Comyn Nature Reserve (bringing your own picnic to enjoy waterside) & giving you the chance to try different types of paddle board. Product Description

Take to your paddleboard in Sussex & enjoy the best of both worlds with coastal & river paddleboarding available from the one location! This whole area around Camber Sands near Rye in East Sussex is ideal for learning how to stand up paddle board
- so what are you waiting for…it's time to get your paddle on!

Paddleboarding is the latest sport to be added to the roster here at this centre near Rye. Located right on the beach (and we mean right on the sand of the actual beach!) this small & friendly school is run by a team made up of young & gifted instructors many of whom are sponsored pro team riders & every one of them is passionate about water sports & in this case teaching paddleboarding.

Camber Sands & the neighbouring beaches around the Sussex/ Kent border of Winchelsea & Greatstone are all perfect for the sport. Preferred weather conditions for paddle boarders are light winds & high tides & the Dungeness Peninsula is really flat so it's known for thermal winds & very little rain fall
- so the chances of you having your first taste of the paddle board craze under the Camber sunshine are pretty high!

This East Sussex-based paddle board school offers two lessons types. If you just want to dip your toe into the water to see if you like it try the introductory session. This still lasts a good two hours so you'll have plenty of time to learn the basics such as paddle style & techniques stance on the board how to go forwards backwards & turning as well as safety procedures in open & in-land waters.

If you want to really give it a proper go try the five hour river adventure experience. Once you've had a paddle around the local area & learnt the basics you'll enjoy a guided paddleboard through the pretty East Sussex town of Rye & beyond as you pass castles harbours & fishing ports along your way. The itinerary is simple. Two hours on your paddleboard setting off from near Camber in the morning a break for lunch then another two hours on the board to get you back to base.

Why the paddleboard has become so popular around these parts of Sussex is easy to explain. It's a really versatile paddle sport that most people quickly pick up you don't need to wait around for big waves like you do to surf & you can go for a gentle cruise around on flat water try racing these things or even ride those waves when they do build in the open seas. Now that's what we call flexible.

You also only need minimal equipment. This Camber-based centre has invested in the best of the best when it comes to the paddleboards with a range of Bic Starboard Red. Co & Liquid Shredder boards. A suitable one for you size & standard of riding will be chosen & the single-ended paddles are all height adjustable so it is comfortable for you to use.

If you've seen people out on paddleboards before in Sussex & always thought to yourself "I wouldn't mind having a go at that myself" then this is the ideal opportunity. Fun versatile & a sport that can be as gentle or as gnarly as you like we think a a trip out on the sea or the river on your paddleboard from Camber has got to be one of the activities to do in this part of the world. Isn't it time you got paddling?!
