- so what are you waiting for…it's time to get your paddle on!
Paddleboarding is the latest sport to be added to the roster here at this centre near Rye. Located right on the beach (and we mean right on the sand of the actual beach!) this small & friendly school is run by a team made up of young & gifted instructors many of whom are sponsored pro team riders & every one of them is passionate about water sports & in this case teaching paddleboarding.
Camber Sands & the neighbouring beaches around the Sussex/ Kent border of Winchelsea & Greatstone are all perfect for the sport. Preferred weather conditions for paddle boarders are light winds & high tides & the Dungeness Peninsula is really flat so it's known for thermal winds & very little rain fall
- so the chances of you having your first taste of the paddle board craze under the Camber sunshine are pretty high!

Why the paddleboard has become so popular around these parts of Sussex is easy to explain. It's a really versatile paddle sport that most people quickly pick up you don't need to wait around for big waves like you do to surf & you can go for a gentle cruise around on flat water try racing these things or even ride those waves when they do build in the open seas. Now that's what we call flexible.
You also only need minimal equipment. This Camber-based centre has invested in the best of the best when it comes to the paddleboards with a range of Bic Starboard Red. Co & Liquid Shredder boards. A suitable one for you size & standard of riding will be chosen & the single-ended paddles are all height adjustable so it is comfortable for you to use.
If you've seen people out on paddleboards before in Sussex & always thought to yourself "I wouldn't mind having a go at that myself" then this is the ideal opportunity. Fun versatile & a sport that can be as gentle or as gnarly as you like we think a a trip out on the sea or the river on your paddleboard from Camber has got to be one of the activities to do in this part of the world.
