Enjoy a London vintage pleasure flight in a wonderful de Havilland Devon! These vintage airliner flights will show you all the best of the capital in the most nostalgic way possible. This is a very special plane & one that has certainly earned its place in the aviation history books as the aircraft that revolutionised passenger air travel after the war. These vintage airliner flights are operated out of Kent's Headcorn Aerodrome using a de Havilland Devon. The Devon is the military version of the commercial airliner the de Havilland Dove. This particular plane is a shining example of a ex-RAF Devon. Having been built in Hawarden Chester in 1946 she immediately entered military service as VP981 & was posted to RAF Hendon. A very well-travelled Devon there followed several years of service at Fontainebleau in France as the private transport for the Air Attaché & for the Commander of Allies Forces. Returning to the UK in 1966 for stints at RAF Andover & RAF Northolt she was (very carefully) put into storage in 1975. In 1985 a new career took off as crew transport for the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight based at RAF Coningsby before finally being retired from military duties in 1998. As an ex-military Devon she is now revelling in the fact that she is now flying a range of civilian vintage pleasure flights including this one over London. In just 15 minutes you'll be within range of all those landmarks buildings & sights of the capital. Unlike today's jet airliners the vintage Devon affords every passenger a large window so wherever you are seated in the cabin you'll get a great view of London. Resplendent in her authentic Royal Air Force Transport Command colours seeing the de Havilland Devon sitting on the tarmac at Headcorn is truly a sight to behold. With her distinctive domed cockpit & tall windscreen it really gives the Devon a distinctive & characterful face! A proper beauty from the humble beginnings of commercial air travel not only do these London vintage pleasure flights give you the chance to see the capital from the air you get to do in some serious style. ...

While away a day at the Kenton Park Estate on this lovely vineyard experience in Devon! This is the story of a family who fell in love with a country estate decided to buy it & brought the vineyard back to life. It's a fascinating & magical tale you'll love to hear! The Oliphant-Thompson family bought this pretty farm estate in 2017. The previous owner had produced some award-winning wines in the past so the self-penned ' Motley Cru' immediately got to work to re-plant the vineyard & start their incredible journey into the world of wine. There are now 15 000 vines growing in the microclimate that surrounds Kenton Park Estate. From Pinot Noir & Chardonnay to Bacchus & Reichensteiner these grapes grow happily in this beautiful corner of Devon. The seasonal mists certainly bring their magic to the fruitfulness & the family now produces a fine collection of wines including the wonderfully named ' Grape Escape' & ' Flying Start' wines. For your visit to Kenton you'll be gui... ...

Drive a diesel train along the wonderful Churnet Valley Railway line! British Railways started building cleaner & more economical diesel-powered trains in the 1950s. Lightweight & adaptable the diesel rail cars you can drive on these experiences were all built by the Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company not far from this heritage line's base in Staffordshire.A true labour of love the wagons & trains you will climb aboard at the Cheddleton base have been restored by the army of volunteers between 1992 & 2004. We think the hard-working team has every right to be incredibly proud of what has been achieved with the train gone from being on the diesel scrap heap to be driven by you & looking decidedly more photogenic now too liveried up in a gorgeous dark green colour or classic BR blue. To be more precise about your day out you will most likely be driving a class 33 train. This class of diesel was in production between 1960 & 1962 with 98 locos being built in total. At the time they were quite innovative being factory fitted with dual braking systems namely vacuum & air. They were also capable of working in push-pull mode where the trains run on a non-electrified section of railway line. All this fascinating info & more will be explained to you when you take on the 12 mile trip on a one to one basis with your expert driver. And there is such a lot of history behind these locos! ' Sophie' retired in 1992 from the mainlines & she was sold by tender in 1993. After having her bogies replaced & an overhaul she went back into service in 1997. A complete restoration was carried out in 2009 (covering everything from re-wiring & bodywork to new batteries & repainting) before being back in traffic in 2012.' Captain Charles' is another class 33 who retired from service in 1996 after a long career. After being sold & run privately to pull charter & specialist services he made his first appearance after restoration in 2010 & found his way to the Churnet Valley later that year. These are just two of the diesel trains that are in the fleet here in Staffordshire with lots more stored awaiting overhaul or repairs including class 47s ' Brightside' ' Tamworth Castle' & No 6 Roger H Bennett to name but a few loco shed residents. You will be heading out for your jaunt on the Churnet Valley Line that stretches 12 miles along the countryside they call ' Little Switzerland' in this part of Staffordshire. Every drive a diesel train experience is offered on an exclusive basis so it will just be you & the experienced driver upfront in the cab ensuring lots of hands on time actually driving the diesel multiple unit & learning what it was like to be a diesel train driver in the 1960s & 70s. & don't forget your friends & family will be able to wave from the platform! ...

Deluxe Theatre & Dinner Package London

The acting the drama the singing and the dancing - you'll have it all with these packages that include a show and dinner in London. It certainly is showtime when you treat someone you love to an outing in the capital that combines good food (lunch or dinner) with a good musical theatre show.In fact we think there's nothing better than an evening of food followed by a musical show in the capital and with this premium package you'll be getting the best available tickets in the house for your weekday evening or matinee show and dinner in a popular London restaurant too.Contrary to all expectations Theatreland is booming in London. Some stage shows have been running for decades whilst new productions open to packed houses and become instant classics. It seems we just can't get enough of the
theatre these days. However we're not talking plays by far the most popular modern productions are 'jukebox' musicals where an artist's greatest hits combine loosely around a story and hey presto - you've got a string of sing-a-long songs you already know so you can belt them out along with the cast. All you have to do is pick your show from out latest list of West End hits.As for the dinner part of these London show packages well you can pretty much travel the culinary world. Whether you fancy the simplicity of fresh Italian pasta and pizza a taste of Americana or the classic steak and fries there's bound to be an eatery on our list that will get your mouth watering. All are just a short distance from the London theatres featured and you can usually have your dinner before or after the
show. If you prefer a matinee performance you will be able to make it a lunch date instead. Of course the menus vary from restaurant to restaurant but you will be offered a two course meal that's usually from the 'table d'hôte' menu and a coffee to round it off.The whole idea of these deals for a show and dinner in London is that you have a great night out. After all you just can't beat a good show tune a bit of drama (we love a grand entrance on stage!) a few tears and a happy ending that leaves you cheering for more at the curtain call when the cast return to the stage for that final bow. And we're pretty sure you'll be humming the tunes as soon as you leave the theatre walk out into the London evening air and head to dinner.Perhaps you'd prefer a more adrenaline fuelled experience for
your day out? Why not take a look at some of the wide range of experience days available for one person a couple or even a whole group of you to join in with and share the fun.
