What's an induction hob? Induction hobs heat the pan not the hob using an electrical current. Induction hobs can heat a pan faster than a traditional gas or electric hob, & are more energy efficient. They're also easier to clean, as you can wipe the hob shortly after using it. Remember, not all ceramic hobs are induction hobs. An induction hob can only be used with induction compatible pans. You can use induction kettles (which are faster to boil than normal kettles) with induction hobs. The fine degree of control over the power of the hob is also good for tasks like melting chocolate or making a sauce. The Hotpoint CIS640B Electric Hob is a sleek, stylish & functional addition to any kitchen. With four heat zones in two different sizes plus heat boosters, you're guaranteed quick & consistent cooking.. Ultra-efficient induction heating technology works by creating a magnetic field between the hob & steel or iron pan. The heat is instant, easily controlled & energy efficient. Front location touch controls give this Hotpoint hob a contemporary feel, while also having the advantage of being very easy to clean. The CIS640B also comes with a child lock, a pan detection system & a programmable timer for added peace of mind.
