If you are new to Hotpan cooking you can choose to include the free Hotpan cooking chart at checkout, this handy chart gives you the cooking times of vegetables, fruit, meat, rice & potatoes. The secret of this energy saving cooking lies in the highly efficient stainless steel pot, the airtight lid & the heat retaining properties of the melamine bowl. Start cooking on the hob in the stainless steel pot – for example vegetables, rice, a chicken breast, a casserole, even fruit. Leave the food to cook on the hob for the required time (see examples below or take a look at the Hotpan cooking chart) then transfer the lidded stainless steel pot to the coloured melamine bowl & leave on a work surface. The melamine will insulate the heat so that the food will carry on cooking & stay warm for up to 2 hours. As well as being energy & time efficient this soft cooking process helps the food to retain more vitamins & nutrients. Some examples of cooking times with Hotpan:- Carrots, cauliflower, courgettes & leeks – 5 minutes on the hob, 15 minutes in the insulating bowl. Potatoes – 15 minutes on the hob, 30 minutes in the insulating bowl. Rice – 5 minutes on the hob, 25 minutes in the insulating bowl. Lamb casserole – 40 minutes on the hob, 60 minutes in the insulating bowl. Risotto – 5 minutes on the hob, 20 minutes in the insulating bowl.
