Balvenie William Grant converted the ruins of Balvenie House into Balvenie malt whisky distillery in 1892 in order to meet the global demand for William Grant’s Scottish Speyside malt whisky & blended scotch. Balvenie Distillery is situated near Balvenie Castle & the River Fiddich in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region & is one of the few Scottish distilleries to malt barley on its own malt floors & to dry its malted barley over a peat fire in its own malt kiln. Visitors can enjoy an in-depth Balvenie scotch whisky experience & distillery tour. Balvenie Distillery is also a participant in the popular Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. Nose: Fruit, Caramel & sweet spice mix with a little treacle scone. Citrus candied orange & lemon peel reveal themselves on addition of water. Taste: Sweet & smooth with hints of marmalade & spice at the back of the throat. Finish: Rich & warming with lingering flavours of butterscotch, dried fruit & lasting spice.
