The small Hebridean island of Islay is famous for its heavily peat-smoke flavoured Malt Whiskies. Berrys’ Islay Reserve has been created by Berry Bros blending team, led by Douglas Mc Ivor, to represent the standard-bearers of style & quality from the Islay region. Blended Malt Blended Malt is a mixture of two or more Single Malt Scotch Whiskies which have been distilled at more than one distillery. Because Scotland’s whisky blenders are able to standardise the colour, strength & taste in their blends their customers are assured of consistency in a product which may be marketed over a number of years. Formally known as a Vatted Malt. Beyond the smoky, medicinal core there is a seam of subtle yellow fruit. The deep smokiness of the palate leaves a warming kiss of peat which lingers long into the finish. In short, this is an Islay drinker’s Islay.
