Gold award winner International Wine & Spirits Competition 2011. Blended Scotch Blended Scotch is a mixture of one or more Single Malt Scotch Whiskies with one or more Single Grain Scotch Whiskies. The inclusion of grain whisky provides a diluting effect on the relatively harsher malt whisky & produces a smoother, milder product. With the resources to mix & blend from a diverse range of whiskies, Scotland’s whisky blenders are able to standardise the colour, strength & taste across their brands thereby generating repeatability & consistency in their blends. Nose: Full of fruits, dark cherries, peaches in syrup, figs, oranges, cantaloupe melon, honey off the comb, cooking apples. Palate: Thick mouth feel, balanced fresh woodiness shows maturity yet is still vibrant. More citrus notes emerge before the sherry notes come through. Raisins, stewed fruits, pain au chocolat.
