The whisky is double matured in barrels with heavily toasted French oak heads for up to an additional two years. The result is a very rich malt whisky. Winner Liquid Gold Award 2011 in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible™ (95.5 points). Blended Malt is a mixture of two or more Single Malt Scotch Whiskies which have been distilled at more than one distillery. Because Scotland’s whisky blenders are able to standardise the colour, strength & taste in their blends their customers are assured of consistency in a product which may be marketed over a number of years. Formally known as a Vatted Malt. Big, sweet aromas of clove, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg & vanilla. The palate is full, round & sweet, with the spice & vanilla complementing the core distillery characters & leaving a long finish.
