Pale pink in colour, it has a very elegant & fruity bouquet. It is fresh, delicate & silky with a pleasant length. The de Saporta family have owned Chateau de Fonscolombe for almost 200 years & have continued its long winemaking history. Over the years, they have modernised the cellars, replanted the vineyards with different grape varieties & enhanced the quality of the wines, which are now some of the best in the region. The vineyard of Chateau de Fonscolombe is made up of two distinct areas, both of them located in the north of the Appellation at both ends of the Trevaresse hills. A total of 100 hectares are classified as AOC Coteaux d' Aix-en-Provence. The soil is stony clay in Le Puy Sainte Reparade & sedimentary sand that drains well in Lambesc. The estate is at an altitude of 250 metres & the nights are cooler than in the southern part of the Appellation. The average rainfall is about 600 mm a year. Limited stock.
