The traditional vintage constitutes the majority of what is produced in the vineyard. Vinified using the whole grape, & fermented over a period of 7-8 days, it encapsulates all the qualities one would expect from a Fleurie wine. It tastes smooth, & lusciously fruity, with subtle but nevertheless tangible tannins. It can be drunk young, but also improves with age. We recommend the wine be consumed within 2-4 years. The 2010 vintage is medium violet/ruby in colour with sweet, ripe floral aromas on the nose which follow through on the palate. A spritely cocktail of summer fruits enchant
- cherry, strawberry & raspberry with a lick of cream & spice. It has good concentration & perfect balance. Ready to drink now, it will evolve over the coming three to four years. Fleurie makes a great aperitif, lightly chilled, but will accompany many varied dishes such as duck pate, sausage & mash, calves' liver or braised ham.
