The Glen Dronach Cask Strength offers connoisseurs a deeper insight into the distillerys signature profile, by bottling the whisky at its natural cask strength of 61%. The 8th release of this expression has been matured for 10 years in both Pedro Ximnez & Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in an exquisitely rich & full-bodied Single Malt, with the full depth of the long maturation in Spanish oak. With each Cask Strength release, our Master Blender selects the perfect marriage of these two cask styles, before bottling without chill-filtration & at high strength, as was the custom before the turn of the 20th century. Add a drop or two of water to reveal a cornucopia of flavour; from mocha, dark chocolate & caramel macchiato to cherry cake layered with sultanas & plums. The depth of flavour continues into The Glen Dronachs signature long & lingering finish, which is particularly notable in this expression. As with all The Glen Dronach expressions, all of the natural colour is drawn from the slow maturation in Spanish oak casks.
