Louis Changarnier was a grower for the Hospices de Beaune at the end of the 19th Century. He then decided to start his own small business in Beaune. 1999 was one of the best vintages for Pinot Noir in Burgundy. The wine is wonderfully forward, ripe with lots of youthful notes.
