This vintage of Cristina displays abundant red cherry-berry fruit, juicy plum & cola, plus a delicate floral note of violets. The palate is broad & full, with perfect balance between the elegant oak & the engaging fruit. The flavours seem to never end & the finish is seamless. The rich, plush tannins provide a solid structure that will help develop this long-aging wine for many years to come. Why ' Cristina'? Named after my daughter, Cristina, this wine is a special selection of 11 barrels from a unique blend of our Pinot Noir clones that we feel best represents the terroir, or personality, of the Don Miguel Vineyard & shows the most potential for aging. The Vinification The grapes were harvested August 30
- September 3 & after minimal crushing, they fermented in small stainless steel tanks. The wine was aged in premium French oak barrels from the forest of Bertranges: 60% new from Remond & Rousseau, & 40% one-year-old. The Clones The six clones planted in the vineyard's 30 acres of Pinot Noir yield wines with complex layers of flavours. The blend of clones in this vintage is 55% Swan, 40% Pommard, & 5% Dijon 115.

Floral aromas of honeysuckle, characteristic of the Spring Mountain clone, come out of the glass with engaging fragrance. On the palate there are hints of lemon zest & vanilla bean from the elegant oak, which enhances the complexity of the fruit & adds a note of graham crackers. An oppulent, rich & creamy wine yet fresh & crisp, with good acidity. The Organic Don Miguel Vineyard Named at er the late patriarch of the Torres family, this organic vineyard is located in the Green Valley
- the coolest, foggiest region of the Russian River, only ten miles from the Pacific. The European-style high density of over 2, 000 vines per acre provides low yields & requires intensive labor; but the vines live longer & the grapes acquire greater concentration & finesse, more elegant aromas, & bet er balance than with the traditional low density. The Vinification The grapes were harvested August 31- September 12, then gently whole-cluster pressed & barrel fermented in premium French oak. The barrels were 42% new oak from the forest of Allier, coopered by Rousseau, Damy, & Dargaud & Jaegle. After undergoing 100% malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged on its lees for nine months & bot led in June 2009. The Clones The vineyards 30 acres of Chardonnay are planted with three different clones. The blend of clones in the 2008 vintage is 57% See, 34% Rued & 9% Spring Mountain.

After minimal crushing, they fermented in small stainless steel tanks, with no whole clusters. The wine was aged in premium French oak barrels, 33% new, coopered by Remond, Rousseau, Marchive & Marsannay, all from the forest of Bertranges. It was bottled, unfined & unfiltered, in August 2009. The vineyard's 20 acres of Pinot Noir are planted with three different clones. The blend of clones in this vintage is 70% Pommard & 30% Dijon 115. ...
