Specialized S-Works Prevail II Road Cycling Helmet With ANGi Black

The new Specialized S-Works Prevail II Road Cycling Helmet looks cosmetically similar to the old Prevail II but it has been almost completely re-designed and packs in a bunch of new technology. The main body of the new Prevail II is made from Specialized’s patented EPS construction that relies on multi-density foam paired with a robotically woven, Aramid-reinforced skeleton. This creates a reduction in the overall size of the helmet, creating a smaller profile that fits lower down on your head for a better fit and safety. It also has deep internal channels that are aligned from front-to-rear, so the air intake and exhaust are optimized to cool your entire head. If you head does get too hot the Gutter Action System manages the flow of sweat, keeping it away from your eyes and dripping
it off of the pads over your temple. When tested in the Specialized wind tunnel the new design saves six seconds over 40km when compared to a "standard" road helmet. The new Prevail II also comes with big safety improvements in the form of MIPS and ANGi. The MIPS system sits inside the helmet and allows it to move slightly with side on impacts, reducing the shock to your brain. If you are unlucky enough to have a crash then the ANGi sensor will detect it and send a text message with your GPS coordinates to your emergency contacts. It also lets friends and family track your rides to see where you are and can alert them if you are out for longer than intended. Put all of this together and you have a super light, super ventilated and super safe helmet for racing or training.
