I originally found this in Barbados, but it originates from South America, probably moving around the world with the Spanish conquistadors while they searched for gold! Named because of its winged shape, that resembles the flaps on a Bishops Crown. This 3-4' plant will produce 40-50+ uniquely shaped fruit, which are around 4cm long. Native to the district of Moruga in Trinidad and Tobago, it weighs in a whopping 1.4 million Scoville units! When chopping your ‘Trinidad Moruga Scorpion’ we highly recommend wearing gloves and washing your hands and cooking utensils. Your chilli pepper plant supplied in a 10cm pot will produce an abundance of these hot fruits that will ripen a dazzling vivid red. Apart from being devilishly hot, this chilli pepper has a tender fruit-like flavour making for the perfect combination of hot and sweet. With the ‘Trinidad Moruga Scorpions’, you could try whipping up a fiery chilli jam or adding a fiery kick to your favourite recipes. So why not grow the hottest
chilli from your very own home, a must-have for any keen chilli enthusiast. Caring for your Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Your chilli plant will perform best in a greenhouse but will produce a good crop in a sunny sheltered location outdoors. It is important that you give it time to adjust to its new environment. Check the compost is moist and if required leave the plant to soak in approximately 5mm water for 5-10 minutes or until the top of the compost is damp. Stand the plant in a warm, light, airy place such as a windowsill or conservatory and allow to grow, ensuring that the compost is kept moist.
