Gorgeous spiky foliage & truly spectacular flower heads. Jade Frost
- A true & stable variegated ' Sea Holly' whose foliage boasts a tricolour appearance in spring. The contrast between the cream-edged leaves & the steel-blue, thistle-like flowers is extremely striking. Flowers June-August. Height 70cm (28). Supplied in a 9cm pot. Back of border variety. Adrian Bloom says... Eryngium Big Blue is a spectacular perennial for a sunny, well drained spot in the garden, with spiny serrated leaves at the base from which strong green-blue stems emerge. The best is yet to come as the erect stems turn the deepest blue, with cobalt blue bracts & cones creating stunning flower heads, just loved by bumblebees. Plant next to a golden flowered perennial such as Coreopsis or Helenium.
