The Butterwort is definitely a unique carnivorous plant that has a delicate & pretty aesthetic. The pretty pink flowers are covered in a sticky adhesive that traps the flies. In the summer months an upright stalk will produce beautiful pink flowers, & each year a new flower stalk will grow. Keep in a bright & well-lit position in a window or conservatory & ensure that it is in a frost-free position with a temperature of 15C (60F) to 32C (90F). it will need slightly acidic soil & to be kept moist. Regularly water in a water tray to help keep the moisture in & avoid watering from above. A great way of achieving the acidic soil is to mis some ericaceous compost & moss. As it is a carnivorous plant it does not need feeding as it can sort itself out! After flowering cut back the stems to allow it to become dormant for the winter. Keep watering to ensure the compost is kept moist but do not over water in the winter.
