Beautiful evergreen succulents are wonderful house plants. Sempervivum is a species of flowering plants more commonly known as houseleeks. They come in a wonderful range of colours & sizes & form amazing dense rosettes of foliage. In the summer months, some of the mature rosettes can produce clusters of star-shaped flowers! At the end of each season, some of the rosettes will die but they then produce offsets that are simple to separate & grow. Once established these hardy plants are very drought tolerant & ideal for planting in a outside in walls or crevices & perfect for indoors on a windowsill. They require good drainage so plant them in gritty soil & in a tray if indoors, or in rock piles or wood if outside. The majority of Sempervivums are frost-hardy but may need a little extra protection in the winter months.
