What would you say if we told you that the Devil himself once visited the Bowmore distillery... Thats right, legend has it that the Devil for some reason was visiting the Scottish Island of Islay when he was spotted by the local congregation who chased him first into a church (probably the Devil's favourite hiding spot) & then into the Bowmore distillery where he hid in a cask of Bowmore that was being shipped to the mainl&. And that is apparently what happened when the Devil visited Islay. Regardless of the story, the whisky inside the Devil's cask is truly excellent stuff: On the eye it is a deep mahogany with an aroma of dark fruits, birch tar, brandy, old leather & fruitcake with maple syrup. The palate further reveals flavours of rich fruit cake, tarry chocolate, lingering dark fruits, tobacco & angelica roots.
