Campo Viejo make a variety of different wines from the Rioja region in Spain. This wine is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes that endure maceration with the Skins on for Approx. 12 days. It is fermented in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of around 25 degrees C. Once the wine is fermented & macerated it will spend another 4 months in American oak casks before rounding off its ageing in the bottle. The wine is a cherry red in colour, which suggests that the Tempranillo wine is vibrant & lively. On the nose it has a rich aroma with a well-defined intensity. It begins with the scent of ripe red fruits, such as Strawberries & Cherries followed gently by sweet notes of Vanilla & spices. On the palate it is perfumed, with a soft body & a fresh long finish that leaves notes of red fruits, vanilla & cocoa.
