Jack Daniel's Tennessee Silver select is the jewel in Mr Jacks crown. It is made at the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, using pure cave spring water & a unique mellowing process perfected by Jack Daniel in 1866. It undergoes the same experience all the other JDs goes through except when it gets in the hand made white oak barrels. The barrels chosen for the silver select 100 proof whiskey are aged in the highest location within the barrel-house where the whiskeys colour & taste mature an extra measure due to the extremes in temperature these barrels experience during the year. The result is a whiskey of uncommon smoothness, aroma & flavour with notes of vanilla, toasted oak & caramel. ...

150 years in the making & a first for Jack Daniel's. 70% rye grain mash bill & maturation for 4 years in White American Oak barrels brings out layers of spice, ripe fruit, toast & caramel. Real treat for JD fans. ...
Jack Daniel's single barrel goes through the same treatment that the famous NO.7 does but it with a bit of a difference. For instance it has a Higher ABV of 45%, it is 100% proof & is stored in a different location. Every drop is still filtered through 10ft of sugar maple charcoal ensuring its distinctive flavour & making it not a bourbon. It also has the same ingredients as the NO.7 including rye, grains of corn, barley & pure iron free water. It is still placed in the same barrels & interacts with them in the same way. When it is hot the oak barrels open up their pours to let the whiskey sink in & when it is cold they contract to get the whiskey out. This is what gives the whiskey its colour & oaky charred flavour. Where they place the barrel in the barrel-house is what makes the difference between the whiskeys. Barrels with the potential to be single barrel are placed in the highest point of the barrel-house called the Angels roost. Here the summer temperatures can reach well over 100 degree Fahrenheit & in the winter they can easily drop below freezing levels. These extreme conditions can cause the whiskey to move in & out of the barrel dramatically, resulting in the intense maturation needed to develop the unique flavour of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel. ...
