Mortlach is the oldest distillery in Dufftown having been founded in 1823, it pre dates the next one (Glenfiddich) by over 4 decades. Currently owned by Diageo the whisky from Mortlach has mainly been used within their extensive range of blends such as Johnnie Walker Black Label. Luckily however Mortlach has now been relaunched as its own single malt with new look bottles that were inspired by the Victorian origins of the br&. The Mortlach 18 year old is one of the core expressions to be released as part of Mortlach's re-launch as its own single malt. The 18 year old is presented in a stunning bottle with a delicate metal frame work around the bottom, inspired by George Cowie a Victorian Civil Engineer who helped to build the Mortlach distillery. It is presented in a elegant bottle that looks more like a decanter than a bottle & will look at home anywhere.
